The term “distilled” reflects their approach of reducing designs to their core essence while ensuring functionality and delight. Tim Dean, an architect with an Honours degree, brings extensive experience from owning a custom furniture design and manufacturing business. He was also awarded the Reginald Muir Scholarship to study furniture production in Europe.
Throughout his career in architecture and interior design across Australia, the Middle East, and Sri Lanka, Tim focuses on creating thoughtful spaces that evoke wonder and comfort. His office and display are located in Chermside, Brisbane, while he occasionally works from Yoko, a converted 12-meter coach shared with his artist wife.

Design and build process
Once you confirm you wish to undertake the design and build journey, Tim from Distilled Design will contact you to arrange a briefing meet. This is an informal chat guided by Tim to outline all the criteria to be considered for the new design.
Next step will be a review of the concept design. This is typically a floorplan, inspiration images, suggestions for finishes, and presentation of any key ideas critical to the concept.
Following your feedback, the new design evolves into a detailed 3D model prior to a second review meeting to present and discuss. Following this, any changes and refinements are addressed before production of complete drawings for final quote and construction.
